3.   Here's another announcement from the City's Neighborhood Network:

"2012 Great American Cleanup-April 28th, 8:00 a.m. to noon

"This is a great way to help rid your neighborhood of trash and do something to improve your community.  Get a group together, spend a half day doing good work for your community.  And someone else provides the tools and pick up the trash afterwards.  How great is that?

Preregistration for the event is required.  Volunteers must register by Friday, April 20.

Organizations, groups or individuals wanting to participate in the 2012 GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP™ may call KEEP NORTHERN ILLINOIS BEAUTIFUL at (815) 637-1343 or go to www.knib.org to register by Friday, April 20.

The GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP™ is a county-wide effort that involves citizens from all villages, municipalities, townships and service organizations in Winnebago County.  It is a collaborative effort between Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful, Winnebago County and the City of Rockford.  As a nationally-organized anti-littering campaign, the GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP™ has grown to become a catalyst for change in community improvement and beautification, becoming the nation’s single largest community improvement program.
